Seeking revenge on an ex with an IRS audit

Bookmark and Share

The oldest trick in the book is getting revenge on an ex-spouse by reporting them to the IRS.

There's only one big problem which usually occurs. Many times you will end up being audited yourself.

If they audit the last year filed which was after the divorce and find a bunch of taxable income that was unreported, the service will probably open up addition years going back. This means that you could end up in an audit yourself.

If your spouse caused the taxable event, and doesn't have the money to pay, then you could end up paying the additional tax yourself.

If you are even asking this question in the first place, then your current accountant isn't doing their job and its time for a change. As highly recommended public accountants providing financial accounting and taxation services in the Chicagoland Area, we take the responsibilities of protecting our clients very seriously. The Standard Accounting Packages section of our website may have what you need. If you have an audit, unfiled returns, need a second opinion, or a payment plan, we can help. Call or e-mail one of our specialists today.

I chose Accounting Solutions because of their instant ability to make things simpler for me. I was amazed because new tech startups can be financially tricky and rather complex but your team has done wonders in making this area of my business much easier to deal with.
