Finding your IBT or the Illinois Tax ID Number of your business

The Illinois Tax ID number, also known as your Illinois Tax Number, or your Illinois Business Tax Number is an eight digit number, usually hyphenated in the middle. This number should not be confused with your Federal Employer Identification Number. The two are completely different.

If you are asking this question, then you probably need to find a new accountant. Locating your number is a common problem because most legal entities are not set up correctly.
